Gaza Reconstruction Plans Advance as International Council Pushes Demilitarization

Satellite imagery reveals that Rafah is almost entirely destroyed following the ongoing military operations in the Gaza Strip. The United States and the international Peace Council remain optimistic about reconstruction efforts, despite ongoing challenges and ceasefire violations by both sides.
Reconstruction Plans and International Efforts
On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, Peace Council members announced a $2.4 billion reconstruction plan encompassing 66 diverse projects. Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair stated that Hamas has agreed to lay down its arms and that Gaza has been liberated from Hamas control.
"Gaza has been liberated from Hamas control. Full demilitarization of Gaza with a new security mechanism, international stabilization and a policing force - all have been agreed with Israel," Tony Blair stated.
Nikolay Mladenov, the High Representative for Gaza, confirmed the presence of the Palestinian technocratic committee inside the Strip to manage civil life. Meanwhile, US General Jasper Jeffers, commander of the International Stabilization Force (ISF), noted that troops from Morocco, Kosovo, Albania, and Kazakhstan are being trained to handle demilitarization and tunnel neutralization.

While international bodies push forward with roadmaps for disarmament and civil governance, the Israel Defense Forces continue counter-terrorism operations in the Strip. Earlier this month, the IDF eliminated the Hamas Rafah Brigade commander, Nail Abu Obeid, highlighting the persistent security complexities on the ground.
