The co-pilot of a Learjet 60 that crashed in Florida, killing all nine people on board, texted her partner about turbulence moments before the disaster. The tragedy claimed the life of 20-year-old Natalia Gadale Filgueiras.
The remains of 20-year-old Natalia Gadale Filgueiras, co-pilot of the executive jet that crashed in Florida, have been officially identified following a disaster that claimed the lives of all nine people on board. The Learjet 60 private aircraft plunged into the ground near Palm Beach, leaving a massive crater at the crash site.
Moments before the fatal impact, Filgueiras managed to send a text message to her partner, who is also a pilot. According to her stepfather, Thiago Cortalti, she wrote that they were encountering severe air turbulence shortly before the tragedy unfolded. Air traffic control communication recordings released recently captured the final moments, including a chilling audio where a voice can be heard reciting a prayer while Filgueiras screams as the aircraft dives.
Filgueiras had accumulated approximately 1,300 flight hours and obtained her private pilot's license at just 17 years of age, before even getting a driver's license. She grew up in Palm Beach County and frequently shared aviation content with her partner. The pilot in command of the Sunday flight has not yet been publicly identified as authorities continue their investigation into the cause of the crash in the USA.
