Seven flight attendants fell ill due to an unidentified odor on a flight from Los Angeles to Hawaii, while none of the 252 passengers were affected.
Seven Alaska Airlines flight attendants fell ill due to an unidentified odor in the cabin while boarding a flight from Los Angeles to Honolulu, Hawaii. According to the Star-Advertiser, medical personnel rushed to Terminal 1 at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport on Thursday around 12:30 PM.
The situation grew more unusual as none of the 252 passengers on board reported any symptoms or injuries from the odor. Authorities have not yet identified the source of the strange smell.
Although listed as Alaska Airlines flight 803, the route was actually operated by Hawaiian Airlines using an Airbus A330 aircraft. Hawaiian Airlines stated that the plane underwent a thorough inspection before its next scheduled departure. No passengers required medical treatment.
Earlier this month, a New York-to-Los Angeles flight was forced to make an emergency landing in Albuquerque due to a smoky odor in the cabin. Delta Air Lines issued an apology to customers affected by the diversion of flight 958.
