Five Killed in Severe Traffic Accidents Across Israel in a Single Day
Five people were killed in separate traffic accidents across Israel on Thursday, including collisions in the Negev, Tel Aviv, the Ayalon Highway, and near Kiryat Ata.
A series of severe traffic accidents across Israel resulted in the deaths of five people on Thursday. The fatal incidents spanned multiple regions, drawing urgent attention to road safety and prompting responses from emergency services.
Morning and Afternoon Tragedies
The day's first fatal collision occurred in the morning on Highway 310, near Givot Bar in the Negev region. Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics reported a severe head-on crash between two private vehicles. Two men in their 30s sustained critical multi-system trauma and were pronounced dead at the scene.
"This was a shocking traffic accident. The vehicles suffered severe front-end damage, and one of them was resting on the separation barrier," recounted MDA paramedic Razak Alturi.
Later in the afternoon, a cyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle in Tel Aviv. Shortly after, a severe multi-vehicle collision on the Ayalon Highway involving a bus and a taxi resulted in the death of a 70-year-old taxi driver. Paramedics performed advanced resuscitation efforts while extricating the trapped driver, but he succumbed to his critical injuries. Three other individuals sustained minor injuries, and one person was moderately injured.
Evening Incidents and Road Safety
As evening approached, another fatal crash occurred on Highway 780, near Kiryat Ata. A motorcyclist, approximately 35 years old, was struck by a car. MDA medical teams arriving at the scene found the rider unconscious with severe traumatic injuries and were forced to pronounce him dead.
The high death toll in a single day has heightened concerns among road safety advocates regarding driving conditions and adherence to traffic regulations across the country.
