The public outcry was ignited following the exposure of Infantino's controversial plan to sell percentages of World Cup tournament rights to private investors.
Institutional Resistance and Legal Threats
The dramatic move by Infantino, who has ruled FIFA with an iron fist for nearly a decade, hit a brick wall of opposition from football associations in Europe, Asia, and North America, which rejected the proposal outright. Furthermore, reports in Europe indicate that UEFA is preparing legal proceedings against him over the attempt to sell off World Cup assets.
The general public has also made its stance clear, with a poll conducted in France showing that approximately 92 percent of respondents demanded his immediate dismissal.
