Eyal Golan, widely regarded as a trailblazer who redefined Mediterranean music and brought it into the Israeli mainstream, has released a highly anticipated new single for his millions of fans.
The release of the song, titled "Lonely in the Big City" (Boded Ba'Ir HaGdola), was announced on the singer's Instagram account this morning. The launch is perfectly timed to coincide with the kickoff of his brand-new concert tour, which begins tonight at the Menora Arena in Tel Aviv.
Sharing his excitement with his followers, Golan wrote:
"Good morning and happy holiday. This is the first song from my upcoming new album. With God's help, we will do and succeed."
Creative Team and Production
The lyrics and melody were crafted by Rotem Hen, Ofir Malul, and Idan Bakshi. Malul also oversaw the rich musical production and arrangement, which seamlessly blends traditional ethnic beats with violins, guitars, and the bouzouki.
Nostalgic Ballad
The song is a touching ballad exploring the complexities of a painful, nostalgic relationship, capturing the emotional distance that can grow within daily routines.
One of the poignant verses translates to:
"You were dancing then / Tears to the beat / I saw the sadness in your eyes / Quietly, quietly I walked in the rain / I became lonely in the big city."
The accompanying music video was directed by Amit Angel, with digital distribution handled by D-Music. The track is now available across all major streaming platforms.
