Israeli Tourists Shift Toward Private European Villas Amid Unrest
Israeli travelers are increasingly opting for private European villas amid recent unrest, while MSC Cruises prepares for its new flagship launch, and Eilat hosts its annual piano festival.

A recent surge in protests and civil unrest across several European nations, accompanied in some cases by violent incidents, is prompting Israeli travelers to reconsider their vacation preferences. According to Spirit World Productions, a company specializing in customized luxury travel, there has been a 20 percent increase in demand among Israelis for private luxury villas in Europe as a safer, more secluded alternative to traditional city-center hotels. The most sought-after destinations include Tuscany and Umbria in Italy, Provence and the French Riviera, as well as Portugal and the Greek islands.
Meanwhile, MSC Cruises is marking one month until the inaugural voyage of its new flagship, MSC World Asia, set to sail on December 4, 2026. The vessel will operate seven-night Mediterranean itineraries during its first winter and summer seasons, featuring Asian-inspired design, seven distinct zones, new suite categories, and The Spiral—an 81.3-meter dry slide spanning 12 decks, inspired by Singapore's Gardens by the Bay.
In Israel, Isrotel hotel chain is preparing for the 28th Piano Festival in Eilat, offering special holiday packages for the New Year. The three-day festival will feature prominent Israeli artists, including Shlomo Artzi, Eviatar Banai, Shlomi Shabat, Yoni Rechter, and Tislam.
Finally, the Ministry of Tourism and the Jerusalem Development Authority recently hosted a professional seminar at the Bible Lands Museum for some 80 tourism representatives, aiming to strengthen local partnerships and promote Jerusalem's tourism infrastructure.
