A satirical sketch broadcast by Keshet 12's popular show "Eretz Nehederet" has sparked a fierce political storm in Israel, drawing sharp condemnation from Channel 14 figures. The controversial segment parodied the show's 31st commemoration of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin's assassination by portraying a fictional reality competition titled "Israel's Next Shooter."

The sketch featured caricatures of Channel 14 personalities, including Yinon Magal hosting the fictional show alongside Yotam Zameri and an imitation of Geula Amir, the mother of Rabin's assassin, who later appeared as a guest judge. The broadcast also incorporated real footage of right-wing activists uttering threats against political opponents.

Channel 14 anchor Ido Tauber vehemently denounced the broadcast, labeling it as ugly and reckless incitement. He argued that the segment effectively paints the entire right-wing political camp as potential perpetrators of future political violence while ignoring violence originating from the political left.

Panelists in Israeli media echoed Tauber's outrage, describing the portrayal as a criminal generalization targeting a large segment of the Israeli public. Meanwhile, the controversy spilled over into social media, exposing deep societal divisions over the boundaries of political satire and the ongoing sensitivity surrounding the memory of Rabin's assassination.
