The Israel national team will face the Georgia national team tomorrow (Sunday, 18:30) in a warm-up match before the pair of games in the August window of the World Cup qualifiers. The strike at Ben Gurion Airport and flight delays affected the team, which arrived in Tbilisi late at night. The team held its first training session this evening and will hold another one tomorrow before the game.
"We are aware of the importance of the current window. There is an opportunity here, and we need to take advantage of it. Tomorrow's game is not official, but it will give us a feeling of how things will look. Georgia is a very good team that will give us a mirror of what we are going to face. Our squad this time is different, we understand the importance and want to do our best to win both games in this window. We invite all Israelis in Georgia to come and cheer for us," said Netanel Artzi.
As a reminder, the national team's squad consists of 13 players, as Idan Zalmanson and Ili Dolinsky will not take part in this window. All squad players will be registered for the game. Georgia has called up 16 players to their extended squad, with prominent names including Tornike Shengelia, Sandro Mamukelashvili (Los Angeles Lakers), Goga Bitadze (Orlando Magic), Duda Sanadze, and naturalized player Marquis Reed. For Israel, this is the final warm-up match before the important meeting against Poland on Thursday (21:00), which may affect the rest of the qualifying campaign.
