Elon Elazar and Kevin Kuzmichev Reach Round of 16 at European Beach Volleyball Championship
The Israeli pair had a perfect day in Poland with victories over a Portuguese and a German pair. In the next stage, they face the pair ranked third in the world.
Elon Elazar from the Emek Yizrael Volleyball Club and Kevin Kuzmichev from Maccabi Tel Aviv had an excellent competition day at the European Beach Volleyball Championship, securing their place in the round of 16.
They started the day with a decisive group stage match against the Portuguese pair Pedrosa and Campos, defeating them 0:2 (19:21, 18:21). Later, they faced a crucial match for a spot in the round of 16 against the strong German pair Ehlers and West. After winning the first set 19:21, a nerve-wracking second set followed, which ended 33:35, sealing a 0:2 victory.
Following the intense win, Elon Elazar said:
"It was a crazy game full of emotions, we enjoyed every moment. The crowd pushed us, and we did what we know best."
Now, the Israeli pair is looking ahead to tomorrow's round of 16 match, where they will face a major challenge: the strong Norwegian pair Mol and Sorum, currently ranked third in the world.
