A 26-meter bi-articulated electric bus designed to carry around 160 passengers has arrived in Israel for the first time to undergo trials for high-demand public transit networks. Auto Chen Mobility, a subsidiary of the Bilious Group, unveiled the vehicle at the "ONE POWER - 360° MOBILITY" event held in Yavne.

Pilot Program and Technical Specifications

The EU25 model bus, manufactured by CRRC, was brought to the country as part of a pilot project won through a tender issued by the National Public Transportation Authority. The test will evaluate the integration of high-capacity vehicles into Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) systems and upcoming mass transit routes established by the Ministry of Transportation.

The bus features four axles, a width of 2.55 meters, and is powered by two electric motors delivering a combined maximum output of 700 kilowatts. It draws energy from a 765 kilowatt-hour LFP battery pack manufactured by CATL, and is equipped with advanced safety systems including GSR compliance and 360-degree cameras.

Industry Leadership and Future Outlook

"The introduction of this electric bus marks a technological leap forward for Israel's public transportation market," stated Bilious Group CEO Udi Adiri during the event.

Auto Chen Mobility CEO David Ohana noted that the company is actively expanding its range of transport solutions to meet the evolving needs of operators and authorities. The pilot joins previous green-mobility initiatives by the company, including the deployment of standard electric buses, natural gas-powered buses, and a hydrogen-fueled intercity coach.
