Elbit Systems announced on Thursday that the integration of unmanned underwater capabilities expands its comprehensive maritime autonomy portfolio across air, surface, and subsurface domains. In a filing submitted to the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, the company stated it will showcase its Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUVs) for the first time at the Euronaval 2026 exhibition, marking its formal entry into the underwater autonomous solutions market.

These capabilities were added following Elbit Systems' acquisition of ISE, a specialized provider of autonomous underwater systems that has delivered over 250 underwater vehicles to customers in more than 20 countries worldwide. The UUV solutions will be presented alongside the Seagull Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) family and other maritime systems from Elbit's portfolio. This integrated architecture enables coordinated operations between subsurface and surface autonomous systems, creating enhanced opportunities for Manned-Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T) concepts.

The UUV portfolio features modular Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) designed for intelligence gathering, Mine Countermeasures (MCM), Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW), seabed mapping, and the protection of critical maritime infrastructure and strategic assets. The systems support prolonged autonomous operations and integrate various payloads, including sonars, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems, and mission-specific sensors.

Elbit noted that it holds over 40 years of experience in autonomous systems, having developed and fielded operational unmanned solutions across air, land, and sea. In the maritime domain, the company has operated for over a decade with operational unmanned naval systems currently utilized by global customers.

"Navies worldwide are increasingly seeking comprehensive autonomous solutions for complex maritime missions," said Oren Sabag, General Manager of Elbit Systems ISTAR and EW. "The addition of UUV capabilities further expands our maritime autonomy portfolio and strengthens our ability to provide customers with a holistic operational solution, encompassing surface and subsurface autonomous systems, payloads, and mission management capabilities."

At Euronaval 2026, Elbit Systems will display a variety of advanced maritime autonomous solutions designed to support modern naval operations and maritime security challenges. The company offers a comprehensive portfolio including naval combat management systems, C4I, electronic warfare, electro-optical systems, maritime communications, precise guided munitions, and underwater warfare solutions.
