Elbit Systems Secures $200 Million Asia-Pacific Defense Contracts
Elbit Systems secured $200 million in contracts from an Asia-Pacific nation for ISTAR solutions, helicopter payloads, and aerial training systems over five years.

Elbit Systems announced on Monday that it has secured contracts totaling approximately $200 million from an Asia-Pacific nation to provide intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance (ISTAR) solutions, as well as aerial training systems. The contracts will be executed over a period of up to five years.
Under the agreements, Elbit Systems will supply Spectro XR 12 multi-spectral intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) and target acquisition payloads to be installed on helicopters. The Spectro XR 12 is the newest addition to the company's family of airborne ISR and target acquisition payloads, tailored specifically for platforms with strict size, weight, and power limitations.
The system combines high-resolution multi-spectral sensors, advanced target acquisition technologies including a laser designator, and AI-based image processing. These features enable detection, recognition, tracking, and action at long ranges, even in complex operational environments and adverse weather conditions.
The contracts also encompass ongoing support and upgrade services for embedded live training systems used in Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training, as well as virtual combat scenarios. The systems support realistic air-to-air and air-to-ground training, including real-time combat simulations, vulnerability assessments, and debriefing capabilities. Additionally, Elbit Systems will provide advanced Head-Up Displays (HUD) featuring high-resolution technology, low power consumption, and advanced video capabilities for various aerial platforms operating day and night.
Recent Deals and Azerbaijani Contract
This new contract follows an agreement announced last week, in which Elbit reported a $235 million sale of EXTRA-MR rockets to an undisclosed European customer. It was subsequently revealed by local media that the client is Azerbaijan. Under the deal with President Ilham Aliyev's government, Baku will receive the medium-range version of Elbit's supersonic EXTRA rocket system, along with PULS launchers, additional artillery platforms, and integrated logistic support.
The EXTRA-MR is a precision-guided rocket designed for medium-range operational scenarios, capable of striking targets at distances of up to 80 kilometers. The system is fully compatible with Elbit's PULS launcher and existing C4I architectures, providing a flexible and cost-effective solution for diverse mission profiles.
