El Al subsidiary Sun Dor launched a new direct flight route to Verona, Italy, offering twice-weekly flights with introductory fares starting from $159 ahead of the winter holiday season.

El Al Israel Airlines subsidiary, Sun Dor, has launched a new direct flight route from Israel to Verona, Italy, ahead of the winter holiday season. Flights are currently operating twice a week, on Sundays and Thursdays, with introductory one-way fares starting from $159 for travel dates throughout November and December.
Strategic Location and Verona's Appeal
Situated in the Veneto region of northeastern Italy, Verona lies at the foot of the Alps along the Adige River. The city is located roughly an hour's drive from Venice and Milan, and sits within easy reach of Lake Garda. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, Verona is celebrated for its Roman history and its enduring legacy as the romantic setting of Romeo and Juliet.
During the Christmas season, Verona transforms as its medieval streets and squares fill with festive lights, holiday trees, and traditional markets. The city hosts the traditional Christkindlmarkt in Piazza dei Signori in collaboration with Nuremberg, offering German wooden chalets alongside local culinary specialties such as Pandoro, the iconic holiday cake born in the city.
Expanding Operations and Recent Changes
This new route offers Israeli travelers a direct and accessible option for winter tourism in northern Italy. The launch follows recent operational adjustments by the parent company, which transferred some of its European routes, such as Prague, to the Sun Dor subsidiary.
