El Al Faces Class-Action Lawsuits Over Prague Route Transfer to Sun D'Or
El Al faces two class-action lawsuits over its decision to transfer Prague flights to Sun D'Or. Plaintiffs claim passengers were misled, charged high cancellation fees, and denied the El Al service they paid for.

El Al faces two class-action lawsuits filed at the Haifa District Court following its decision to transfer its Prague flight operations to its subsidiary, Sun D'Or, starting November 15, 2026. Plaintiffs argue that passengers who booked flights expecting El Al's standard of service, aircraft, and Terminal 3 departures were misled when the airline later reassigned the route.
According to the court filings, passengers paid higher fares specifically to fly with El Al, citing its reputation, Israeli crew, catering, and terminal amenities. One of the plaintiffs sought to cancel her tickets upon learning of the switch, but was allegedly told by customer service about a special "Prague Procedure" requiring a $190 cancellation fee per ticket.
The lawsuits contend that the shift to Sun D'Or was a commercial business decision rather than a move forced by security constraints or force majeure. Plaintiffs argue that El Al should have disclosed the operating carrier at the time of booking, as customers effectively purchased one product only to receive a different one after the transaction was completed.
El Al responded that the formal class-action requests have not yet been officially served to the company. Once received, the airline stated it will review the claims and submit its formal response to the court through standard legal procedures.
