Freed Captive Eitan Mor Celebrates Sukkot at Home With Family
Freed captive Eitan Mor will celebrate Sukkot at home with his family, a year after being held in Gaza. His father shared an emotional post, contrasting last year's empty chair with this year's joyous reunion.
Eitan Mor, who survived 738 days in Hamas tunnels and was released in the hostage deal nearly a year ago, will celebrate the holiday of Sukkot this year with his family. His father, Zvika Mor, shared his feelings in an emotional social media post on Friday, marking a year since his son was still held captive by the terror organization.
"Last Sukkot eve I didn't even know if my son was alive," the father of the released captive shared. "We left an empty chair for him and prayed. We didn't imagine that on the last day of the holiday he would return to us. This year there is no empty chair. Eitan is here. Breathing, smiling, at home."
Mor expressed gratitude for the moment and the privilege of celebrating Sukkot together with his son, thanking the IDF soldiers and the people of Israel. Meanwhile, Itamar Eitam, recently placed in the "Religious Zionism" party, recalled celebrating last Sukkot deep inside the Gaza Strip while on a mission to defeat the enemy and rescue the hostages.
Eitam saluted the thousands of reservists and combat soldiers who are once again leaving their home sukkahs to guard the country, expressing deep appreciation for both the troops on the front lines and the families on the home front.
