Eilat Resident Indicted for Driving Without License, Fleeing Police and Threats
Israel Police filed an indictment against an Eilat resident in his 30s for driving without a license, fleeing police, and threatening an officer and his family.
The Prosecution Division of the Israel Police filed an indictment on Monday against a resident of Eilat in his 30s who has never held a driving license. According to the charges, the man drove through the city while disqualified, fled from police officers both by vehicle and on foot, and later threatened one of the officers and his family.
Police Chase and Arrest in Eilat
According to the indictment, the incident took place on September 5, when the defendant drove a vehicle through the streets of Eilat despite never obtaining a license and being under a judicial disqualification. A police patrol car driving behind him signaled him to pull over, but the suspect allegedly accelerated in an attempt to escape.
During the pursuit, the defendant collided with a traffic island, abandoned the vehicle, and began fleeing on foot. An officer who chased him noted that the suspect climbed a school fence and entered the premises. He then mounted a security guard booth and refused to descend despite police orders. One of the officers climbed up, brought him down, and placed him under arrest.

Prior Convictions and Severe Charges
The indictment states that even after his arrest, the defendant continued to confront the officers and threatened one of them and his family members. During questioning, the defendant admitted to driving while knowing he was disqualified, though he invoked his right to silence during other parts of the interrogation.
Authorities noted that this is not his first time facing trial for such traffic offenses. It marks the third time he has been charged with driving without a license and the third time for driving while disqualified. He has previously served prison terms for similar offenses and holds a prior conviction for driving under the influence of drugs.
The Israel Police Prosecution Division in Eilat has charged him with driving without a license, driving while disqualified, reckless driving, driving without insurance, threats, obstructing a police officer in the line of duty, and criminal trespass. Prosecutors have requested that he be held in detention until the conclusion of legal proceedings.
