Two Eilat Residents Indicted for Robbing Man of Thousands in Cash
The Southern District Attorney's Office indicted two Eilat residents for robbing a man of thousands of shekels and a phone after following him from a bar.
The Southern District Attorney's Office filed an indictment against two residents of Eilat, Daniel Marciano (20) and Abd al-Rahman Khadi Boui (36), for robbing a man who left a bar in the city after noticing he was carrying thousands of shekels in cash.
According to the indictments filed by attorney Hilla Melul, Marciano and Abd were at an Eilat bar earlier this month. The victim, who was also at the bar, asked to pay his bill and pulled out cash totaling about 8,000 shekels. After paying, he returned the remaining money to his pocket.
Marciano and Abd left the bar and waited for him nearby. When the victim began walking toward his home, the two walked ahead of him and waited near a staircase in a nearby alley. Upon his arrival, they shouted "Here he comes," chased him down, sprayed him with pepper spray, and stole the cash from his pocket. Abd then led the victim to a nearby street corner, searched his pockets, and stole his mobile phone.
Eilat police investigators collected testimony from the victim, and security camera footage captured part of the robbery. Witnesses at the bar recounted how the victim had displayed a bundle of cash in front of others. Alongside the indictments, motions were filed to detain the suspects until the end of legal proceedings, noting the severity of the offense committed in broad daylight on a public street.
