From a phone recording to a moving duet: Ester Rada in a chilling collaboration
The beloved singer took part in a special memorial project for Aner Shapira (of blessed memory), and recorded a moving duet based on a recording left behind by the soldier who saved many lives on October 7.

From a phone recording to a moving duet: a new song by creator and musician Aner Shapira (of blessed memory) is being released, this time in collaboration with singer Ester Rada and producer Ori Shochat. The single "Why am I thinking about you" is the second song from the collaboration album of the soldier and artist who fell on October 7, in which the works he left behind receive new life in a meeting with leading Israeli artists.
The original song was recorded by Aner for himself on his phone after finishing high school. From this intimate recording, a trap and R&B song was born, bringing together his original voice with new lines written by Rada, inspired by his text. In the song, Aner wrote:
"The dream from childhood is basically the same thing, let me leave a mark before I die any moment now"
These words have now taken on a chilling meaning.
Aner Shapira (of blessed memory), who became a symbol of heroism when he fell in a roadside shelter near Re'im after deflecting grenades and saving many lives, left behind a rich artistic world. His family is working to release his works, and now Rada shares:
"It is a great privilege to commemorate Aner. Ori Shochat and I tried to honor the work without imposing ourselves, and I am happy that the family likes it."
"Why am I thinking about you" connects two voices that met at different times for a touching conversation about love, longing, and parting. The song continues the moving process of commemorating Aner through the music and art he left behind.
