"Disappointed, I saw myself in the final": This is the contestant eliminated from "MasterChef"

With six contestants remaining in the cooking competition, every dish becomes critical. Following a challenging task involving canned goods, Tair Murdoch has left the kitchen: "I finished in sixth place in the previous season as well. Apparently, there is a curse on me with this number."

The cruelty of MasterChef, which contestants learn early in the season, is that sometimes a single subpar dish is enough to end one's journey in the competition. On Monday, Tair Murdoch learned this firsthand as she was eliminated just before the season's final five were determined.

In a special task involving the preparation of three dishes using only canned goods in pairs, Murdoch cooked alongside Gal Kaspers. Their team received the lowest score among the pairs, shifting the focus to the individual dishes for which each was responsible. Murdoch prepared a tuna cigar pastilla, which proved less successful than Kaspers' pasta puttanesca and anchovy chips, resulting in her departure.

"We are sadly saying goodbye to you. I feel that you arrived much more composed and goal-oriented. There was something very mature, knowing, and proud in the food you served us. The parting is especially painful; there was a feeling that maybe this time it would work out," said judge Michal Ansky.

Eyal Shani also bid her farewell:

"You had a clear knowledge of what you love, and you always cooked with joy. It brought a lot of inspiration and pleasantness that also came through in the dishes you made."

"I saw myself in the final; apparently, there is a curse of sixth place on me, as that is how I was eliminated in season nine as well," Murdoch said with a smile. "I am disappointed, but it is what it is. I am very proud of the dishes I served and I had fun. Apparently, something is waiting for me that I need to make time for; it seems 6 is not my lucky number."
