Israel Discount Bank customers experienced widespread digital disruptions on Wednesday, affecting online banking services, mobile applications, and ATM operations across the country.

According to TheMarker, users trying to perform routine transactions, such as depositing checks, encountered error messages. Bank representatives confirmed to customers that a broad technical glitch was impacting digital platforms.

Discount Bank later issued a clarifying statement, explaining that the issue stemmed from momentary disconnections during routine maintenance work. The bank assured clients that all technical issues have been resolved and standard services are operating normally.

The disruption occurred just a day after the bank's board of directors finalized a strategic merger with Mercantile Bank. According to Discount Bank, the consolidation will accelerate the strategic plan led by Discount Group CEO Avi Levy and strengthen its competitive standing.
