Two eliminated in Lebanon, interceptions seen over the Sea of Galilee, and Iran reports: "Powerful explosion in Jordan"
The source of the interceptions documented by vacationers in the skies over the Sea of Galilee is in Jordan, where Iran has again launched ballistic missiles. Meanwhile, the IDF has launched another wave of attacks in Lebanon, in which, according to reports, two people on a motorcycle were eliminated.
Media outlets in Lebanon reported this evening, Friday, on a wave of IDF attacks, in which, among other things, two people riding a motorcycle were eliminated in the village of Rouman in the south of the country. In addition, according to reports, targets in Nabatieh and Al-Fouqa were also attacked.
Shortly thereafter, vacationers at the Sea of Galilee documented interceptions in the sky — and according to the IDF, these were interceptions from Jordan, which appeared as if they were over the northern region. In Iran, they reported a "powerful explosion in Jordan," and then claimed in the Fars news agency — as well as in the Saudi Al-Hadath — that it was a missile attack on an American base in the country. As of now, there is no verification of the reports from Jordan or the USA.
The Israeli attacks are continuing in parallel with negotiations with the Lebanese government, within the framework of which only yesterday five prisoners were released and returned to the neighboring country, which is simultaneously searching for the remains of the leaders of the Jewish community in Lebanon, who were murdered and kidnapped by terrorist organizations in the 80s.
Operation on the Ali-Taher Ridge
Regarding the operation on the Ali-Taher ridge yesterday, following a report by Reuters that Iran threatened to "respond with force" to the Israeli activity, the IDF decided to publish the details of the operation and its purpose. Security sources claimed that although IDF soldiers "trapped" dozens of Hezbollah terrorists in the complex, there is no basis for the Iranian claim that members of the Revolutionary Guards were also captured with them.
The soldiers who trapped the Hezbollah terrorists in the complex identified openings through which they could exit, monitored them, and prevented any attempt by the terrorist organization to assist its people from the outside. At first, Hezbollah tried to transfer equipment — but as time passed, the difficulty increased. Security sources said that this created pressure within Hezbollah. During the activity, the forces that closed off the openings engaged in firefights with Hezbollah terrorists who tried to escape — and eliminated dozens.
The IDF achieved operational control through offensive operational actions such as ambushes, firing at shafts, grenades, drones, and fire strikes. Although Iran continues to claim that dozens of Iranians and Lebanese are at the site, the IDF announced yesterday that in fact the clearing of the underground infrastructure on the ridge has been completed, and all the terrorists have been eliminated or have fled.
"The activity to neutralize the underground infrastructure that has been cleared of terrorists continues, and after its completion, the IDF will prepare for renewed defense," the IDF said.
According to the army, command centers, weapons rooms, generator rooms, living quarters, showers, and a kitchen were found underground on the ridge, "which allowed the terrorists to conduct the fighting and stay there for long periods. This is a strategic infrastructure that was built over two decades, financed and planned by the Iranian terror regime."
