Mourning in the medical world: well-known dentist has passed away
Dr. Isser Bugaisky, who practiced for many years in Tel Aviv, has passed away and will be laid to rest today. His name previously made headlines in the business sections following a massive lawsuit he filed against leading financial institutions.
The medical community is in mourning following the news of the passing of veteran dentist Dr. Isser Bugaisky, who practiced for many years in Tel Aviv. His funeral will take place today, Sunday, at the Kiryat Shaul cemetery in Tel Aviv.
Dr. Bugaisky's name reached the business sections more than two decades ago, following a large-scale financial affair in which he conducted legal proceedings against the Excellence investment house and the Swiss branch of Bank Hapoalim.
In February 2004, it was reported on ynet that Bugaisky had filed a lawsuit in the Tel Aviv District Court, claiming he had been misled regarding the risk level of an investment he had made. According to reports from that time, he invested a total of $12.5 million in the deal, of which $2.5 million was his own money and another $10 million was through a loan from Bank Hapoalim. He claimed at the time that the deal was presented to him as a short-term, risk-free investment, while it later turned out, according to his claims, that it involved significant risks. Conversely, Excellence stated at the time that it was a baseless lawsuit.
At the time, the affair received extensive coverage in economic media outlets as well. In a later publication in Globes, Bugaisky was described as a dentist and a conservative investor who got caught up in a complex financial deal, while he himself admitted that he was not well-versed in the capital market field.
Now, many years after that affair which brought his name outside the world of dentistry, the news of his passing has been received.
