The party claims the video features a recording of Democrats leader Yair Golan while falsely attributing his statements to a meeting of the change bloc's leaders, even though the remarks were originally made during a public interview on Reshet Bet.
The letter asserts that the publication constitutes a "fabricated and false misrepresentation" and amounts to illegal interference in election propaganda, in violation of Section 13 of the Elections (Propaganda Methods) Law. The party further argues that presenting the remarks as having been made in a closed-door meeting could mislead the public into believing that other participants shared or agreed with the statements.
The Democrats demanded that Likud delete the post from all distribution platforms by the stated deadline, warning that failure to comply would result in immediate legal action without further notice.
