American pop star Demi Lovato recently gave her millions of followers a brief scare after sharing a photo from a hospital bed, eight years after her near-fatal overdose. This time, however, the hospitalization was prompted by a severe and unexpected allergic reaction.
In an Instagram story that was later deleted, Lovato posted a picture showing her arm hooked up to an IV drip alongside a hospital identification bracelet. "Sooooo... I am allergic to either passion fruit or sushi now!" she wrote to her fans, quickly adding a reassuring message to calm worried supporters that she is doing fine.
The minor health scare comes amid a busy period for the singer, who released her latest album, It's Not That Deep, in October 2025. The record achieved commercial success, peaking at number nine on the US album chart and claiming the top spot on the dance albums chart following a spring tour across April and May.
