A group of settlers entered the village of Deir Nizam, northwest of Ramallah, overnight, setting fire to a vehicle and spray-painting graffiti containing direct threats against the head of the Shin Bet, David Zini, and Central Command Chief, Avi Bluth. One slogan read, "Evacuations equal chaos. Avi Bluth, watch out," while another referenced Zini's stance on administrative orders.

Security Assessments and Cabinet Tensions

Yesterday, a joint security assessment was held with IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, Police Commissioner Dani Levy, and Shin Bet Chief David Zini, focusing on preparations for the sensitive upcoming weeks and the elections. Reports indicated deep concern that Jewish extremist violence could ignite the West Bank, with Zamir stating, "We cannot continue like this. I cannot put a soldier every meter.

"The Palestinians are not burning Jewish homes here. You are disconnected. We need to see condemnations from all leadership. It harms the settlement enterprise and harms security." — Shin Bet Chief David Zini

Cabinet Clash Over Administrative Detentions

Earlier in the week, a sharp confrontation erupted in the cabinet between Settlement Minister Orit Strock and Shin Bet Chief Zini. Strock accused the security agency of portraying Arabs favorably while unfairly targeting settlers. Zini strongly rebuffed the claim, warning that authorities might be forced to reinstate administrative detentions for Jewish extremists in Judea and Samaria. MK Avi Dichter weighed in during subsequent discussions, urging officials to call the phenomenon by its proper name: "Jewish terror."
