According to her, these matters were raised in strategic meetings held by administration officials, and she emphasized:
"I am not speculating, I know."
However, Greene did not present evidence for the claim, and it has not yet received official confirmation from the administration.
Greene further claimed that the Trump administration is considering lowering the threshold for using nuclear weapons against Iran, and that the administration is ignoring US intelligence assessments regarding Tehran's nuclear capabilities in favor of Israeli assessments.
In her post, Greene warned that such a move could lead to global escalation and even a "nuclear disaster." As of now, there is no public confirmation from the White House or any official US source that such discussions have indeed taken place. At this stage, this is an unusual statement from a former Congresswoman, and not an indication of the existence of an official US policy to use nuclear weapons against Iran.
Greene's statement comes at a particularly tense time with the official expiration of the 60-day window set in the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran. The question of the Iranian nuclear program remains without a real answer, and at this stage, there are no signs of meaningful talks that could lead to an acceptable agreement.
