Israel's Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, presented the harrowing story of the Tassa family from Netiv HaAsara at a UN Security Council briefing on the Middle East, recounting the horrors of the October 7 massacre.

Danon described how Gil Tassa threw himself on a grenade hurled by Hamas terrorists to save his two sons, Koren and Shay, and was killed. The wounded children were dragged into the kitchen, where a terrorist opened the refrigerator and drank a cola in front of them while filming the act.

Opening his speech, Danon also warned Iran and Hezbollah against attempting to exploit Israel's election period for attacks. He further addressed the attempted terror attack on a flydubai flight to Israel and criticized the Palestinian Authority.
