Patrick and Sivan Dumont Take Control of Dallas Mavericks in Major Share Transfer
Miriam Adelson has transferred her Dallas Mavericks shares to Sivan and Patrick Dumont, making the couple 69 percent majority owners of the NBA franchise. The family plans to build a new arena by 2031.

Miriam Adelson has sold her shares in the Dallas Mavericks to her daughter Sivan and son-in-law Patrick Dumont, making the couple the majority owners with a 69 percent stake in the NBA franchise. Adelson originally acquired control of the team alongside Dumont from Mark Cuban in December 2023, funding the multi-billion-dollar purchase through the sale of Las Vegas Sands stock.
While Adelson remained largely uninvolved in day-to-day operations, Dumont served as the primary decision-maker, holding the dual role of Las Vegas Sands CEO and chairman. His tenure has already overseen major organizational shifts, including the high-profile trade of Luka Dončić, the appointment of Masai Ujiri as team president, and the hiring of head coach Dusty May after Jason Kidd's departure.
Future Arena Plans and Vision
Speaking to ESPN, Dumont emphasized that the family's increased stake represents a long-term commitment to the city and the franchise. "This is a long-term investment in the city of Dallas. The Dumont family is committed to building what we hope will be the best arena in the NBA," Dumont stated, outlining plans for a new state-of-the-art facility and entertainment district targeted for completion by the 2031-32 season.
The Dumont family also retains an option to purchase an additional 20 percent stake from Mark Cuban, who currently holds a 27 percent share, with a valuation set at 3.5 billion dollars under the original agreement. "Our plan is to evaluate that possibility and execute it over time," Dumont added.
