Cora Schumacher Opens Up About Health Struggles and Financial Ruin
Cora Schumacher, former wife of Ralf Schumacher, opened up about her severe health struggles, financial crisis, and public backlash following her ex-husband's coming out.

As the Schumacher family steps back into the spotlight with the Netflix release of "Schumacher 1994"—revisiting the historic year Michael Schumacher clinched his first Formula 1 world title—his former sister-in-law Cora Schumacher has opened up about how her life completely fell apart.
Cora, who was married to Ralf Schumacher for 14 years, revealed the depths of her personal and financial crisis during an appearance on Bild's podcast My Way. According to reports, "almost everything has collapsed for her over the past two years," leaving the 49-year-old facing severe financial distress.
Health Battles and Public Scandal
Cora shared that in 2023 she fell severely ill due to prolonged side effects from long COVID, describing how she was terribly sick before everything started disintegrating. Battling depression, her condition deteriorated to the point where she voluntarily checked herself into a clinic for help in 2024. Later that year, her ex-husband Ralf publicly came out as gay.
"The fact that my ex-husband suddenly came out as gay on a Monday morning at 7:30 certainly did not help my health," Cora stated.
She faced intense public backlash, with critics accusing her of being a gold-digger and alleging she had known about Ralf's sexual orientation all along. These rumors fueled claims that their 14-year marriage had been a sham. Cora emphasized that these malicious reactions were what truly broke her spirit.

The former model and television presenter admitted she has struggled with strained relationships with both Ralf and their motorsport-driving son, David. Seeking refuge from the relentless media scrutiny, she stepped away from the public eye and now confronts the looming threat of bankruptcy.
