Chinese Restaurant Owner Surprises Top Employees with Brand-New BMWs
A Chinese hot pot restaurant owner in Henan province surprised her loyal employees by gifting them brand-new BMW luxury cars worth $45,000 each, fully paid and registered in their names.
Ma Yanli, the owner of a popular hot pot restaurant chain in China's Henan province, sparked widespread praise online after gifting brand-new BMW luxury cars to her top-performing female employees. Each vehicle, valued at approximately $45,000, was fully paid for upfront by the owner and registered directly in the employees' names.
The extraordinary gesture was inspired by a touching moment last winter, when Ma noticed one of her most loyal staff members, 8-year veteran Li Jia, arriving at work early in the morning on an electric scooter. Her face was red from the bitter cold, her ears purple, and her hands stiff from the freezing wind.
Deeply moved by the sight, Ma decided to share her success with the team. "I told myself: I can sit in my car and enjoy comfort and warmth. Why shouldn't she?" Ma shared. "I achieved career success, but the company's prosperity is attributed to the collective effort of all employees. Therefore, I must allow my workers to enjoy the company's success."
For the employees, it came as a complete surprise. Li Jia recalled that on the way to the showroom, the boss simply told her she was going to give her a "big toy." The car was registered in her name the same day without any binding contracts or conditions. Another outstanding employee, Liu Yingying, also received a new luxury vehicle.
This is not the first time Ma has shown exceptional generosity toward her staff, regularly distributing consumer goods and cash bonuses during traditional holidays. Generous business practices frequently capture widespread attention on Chinese social media, echoing previous viral stories such as industrialist Cui Peijun distributing 180 million yuan in bonuses ahead of the Chinese New Year.
