Channel 14 presenter Boaz Golan harshly attacked the Israel Police this evening (Saturday) following the publication of footage and details regarding Meli and Liel Yahalomi, who were located on a bus in Buenos Aires after several days of searching.

"A disgusting show of voyeurism led by the Israel Police," Golan wrote. "The police clarify that from the beginning of the incident, it was clear to them that Meli and Liel planned to leave the country on their own initiative and are not involved in any criminal activity. If they are not involved, it is their right to leave, and from that point on, it is their own business."

Golan criticized primarily the publication of the footage of the two from the bus and the information that he claims was passed from the police to the media. "Initiated filming and the distribution of their video from the bus, the briefings, and the personal information about them that was passed by the police spokesperson and their staff to journalists so they would publish it, is nothing less than concentrated disgust, gossip, voyeurism, and gross tabloid behavior," he wrote.

As recalled, after the two were located, it was revealed that the police understood at an early stage that they had left the country of their own volition. During the search, a gag order was even imposed, intended to prevent them from being exposed to information about the investigation and changing the route they had planned.
