Pop icon Beyonce is celebrating the milestone of her 2006 hit album B’Day by launching a new merchandise line on her official website. However, one specific item has drawn intense scrutiny: an empty, limited-edition wooden crate retailing for $948.01.
According to Beyonce's website, the item, named the Bey Keeper Collector’s Box, was released on September 4, her 45th birthday. The specific price tag is highly likely a nod to her birth date of September 4, 1981.
A Premium Box with No Vinyl
On the official store, the crate is described as an essential piece of art for the "hive," though the fine print clarifies that the box is shipped entirely empty, without any vinyl records included.
Only 500 units of the crate are available worldwide. Each box is crafted from solid pine wood, measuring 18 by 14 inches (approximately 46 by 36 cm). It features a faux-crocodile leather carrying strap, gold-toned metal hardware, a beeswax oil finish, and a dark green velvet interior lining. Beyonce's name is engraved on one side, with a bee emblem carved on the top.
The design draws inspiration from traditional beekeeping crates and is intended to store and display Beyonce's vinyl catalog—meaning fans must purchase the actual records separately.
