Benjamin Netanyahu Announces Establishment of Hospital at Ariel University

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited Ariel University and announced the intention to establish a regional university hospital at the institution. During his tour, the Prime Minister visited the Faculty of Medicine named after Prof. Miriam and Sheldon Adelson and the Helmsley regional medical center, where he observed therapeutic and rehabilitative activities and reviewed programs designed for IDF reservists.

The visit marked a significant milestone for the Prime Minister. In 2017, Netanyahu participated in the cornerstone-laying ceremony for the Faculty of Medicine. Nine years later, the site operates an active medical center and school, with the next stage of development focusing on expanding services to create a full-scale hospital that will provide comprehensive care to all residents of the region.

Ariel University President, Prof. Ehud Grossman, welcomed the Prime Minister and noted:

"The vision is being realized. The stone you laid has become a living and vibrant home of teaching, research, and medical care. A unique combination of academia and public service is growing here."

Prof. Grossman thanked the Helmsley Charitable Trust, Prof. Miriam Adelson, and the late Sheldon Adelson for their contributions. The university's CEO, Adv. Yoram Shay, added that the center serves as an academic, social, and Zionist anchor in the area.

The medical center currently employs approximately 180 doctors and therapists across various health and emotional fields. The institution provides a broad range of therapeutic services to children, adults, wounded IDF soldiers, and security personnel, operating a child development unit, a rehabilitation center, the Chappel mental health clinics, and specialized institutes for hearing and bone density testing.
