Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett addressed the possibility of The Democrats leader Yair Golan joining a future government led by him, speaking at an event in Haifa on Wednesday. Bennett made it clear that Golan would need to compromise on his political positions to enter the coalition.

"Yair Golan will have to give things up to enter the government," Bennett stated, suggesting potential cabinet portfolios such as energy minister or national security minister. While outlining a realistic path for a coalition partnership, Bennett's remarks signal that Golan's influence would be contained.

In late September, Bennett met with Golan, opposition leader Yair Lapid, Yisrael Beytenu leader Avigdor Lieberman, and Yeshar leader Gadi Eisenkot, signing a joint principles document ahead of the upcoming elections. Prior to the meeting, Golan declared that his party would not provide automatic support to the largest faction in the change bloc.

Potential disagreements remain, notably regarding Palestinian policy. Speaking to activists last week, Bennett asserted that any government he participates in will not establish a Palestinian state or cede territories.
