Bennett and Eisenkot Slam Netanyahu Over Warning of International Isolation
Opposition leaders Naftali Bennett and Gadi Eisenkot condemned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over his warnings of potential international economic isolation, urging voters to replace the government.

BeYachad leader Naftali Bennett and Yashar party leader Gadi Eisenkot sharply criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday over his remarks concerning Israel potentially facing international economic isolation. Both leaders warned of the severe economic and security consequences of such a scenario and called for replacing the government in the upcoming elections.
Bennett stated that he was horrified by Netanyahu's remarks, describing them as a defeatist and gloomy vision. He warned that this path means the destruction of Israel's high-tech sector, the loss of livelihoods for hundreds of families, widespread poverty, and severe damage to security and tourism. Bennett added that Netanyahu's vision aligns Israel with nations like Iran, North Korea, and Russia, urging the business community and citizens to realize this outcome is not inevitable.
Eisenkot also leveled heavy criticism against Netanyahu, asserting that his continued tenure would result in catastrophic blows to the national economy and security. Eisenkot warned that international isolation and economic sanctions would crush public savings, foreign investments, and standard financial transactions. Both opposition figures emphasized the urgent need for new leadership to restore international relations, strengthen ties with the United States, and revitalize the economy.
Meanwhile, the Bank of Israel issued an official statement emphasizing that cryptocurrencies cannot serve as a workaround for potential international sanctions against Israel. The central bank stressed that safeguarding economic relations with primary trading partners and preventing sanctions remains the correct course of action, noting that this responsibility rests firmly with the political leadership.
