In a recent interview with Variety, Affleck showered his ex-wife with high praise, specifically addressing her overlooked performances in films like Hustlers (2019) and the 2025 release Kiss of the Spider Woman. Affleck, who served as a producer on the latter project, admitted to being biased before emphasizing his deep admiration for her talent.
"I have an enormous amount of respect and admiration for what she is capable of doing," Affleck stated.
A Complex Artistic Challenge
Affleck has consistently championed Lopez's work, previously telling E! News that her performance in Kiss of the Spider Woman ranks among her finest. He highlighted the extraordinary difficulty of the role, which required a seamless combination of acting, singing, and dancing without room for error.
Affleck and his longtime friend and producing partner, Matt Damon, readily attached their names to the film.
