Bayern Munich Faces Arsenal Without Vincent Kompany
Bayern Munich may play their crucial Champions League home match against Arsenal tomorrow without head coach Vincent Kompany. The Belgian manager is suffering from a virus and missed the final training session and pre-match press conference.
Assistant coach Aaron Danks addressed the media in his place, stating: "Vincent has a virus and needs to rest. He is at home resting, and we are in constant contact. Whether he will be at the Allianz Arena tomorrow, we will have to wait and see. The most important thing is that he takes the time he needs."
Squad Preparation and Replacements
Regarding the tactical approach in Kompany's absence, Danks noted that the coaching staff remains calm and focused. The team will also miss the suspended Michael Olise, opening the door for other attacking options in the squad.
"Lenny Karl is one of several players who can step into the lineup in moments like this. At a big club like Bayern, we have a great squad and excellent attacking players," Danks said.
Manuel Neuer and Harry Kane Updates
On the fitness of goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, who returned to training recently, Danks explained that a final decision has yet to be made. Meanwhile, praise was heaped on Harry Kane ahead of the upcoming Ballon d'Or ceremony.
"It is a privilege to work with Harry and see his level every day. His overall game is at such a high level that he could be our best defender or playmaker in training," Danks remarked.
