Following a 3-0 defeat against Manchester City, Liverpool bounced back with a dominant 6-3 away victory over LASK in the Champions League. Bradley Barcola stole the show, scoring the first hat-trick of his career and his first three goals for the Reds since his £123 million summer transfer.

Barcola and Wirtz Shine

Barcola struggled in his opening six matches following his consecutive Champions League titles with Paris Saint-Germain. In Austria, however, he scored with both feet and added a close-range finish in the second half, registering a hat-trick in his 238th career appearance.

"I am really happy for Bradley," manager Andoni Iraola said. "Yesterday you asked me about him not providing numbers, and also about Florian, and today both of them played really well and made the difference."

Florian Wirtz, another high-profile signing who faced recent criticism, also delivered a strong performance, contributing an assist. Liverpool dominated the first half, registering 19 shots before the break—the highest tally in a Champions League away first half since 2003/04.

Squad Rotation and Future Tests

Virgil van Dijk and Alexis Mac Allister were rested ahead of the Premier League clash against Brentford, while 19-year-old Trey Nyoni played 85 minutes. Lewis Koumas scored his first Champions League goal and provided an assist, breaking a club record previously held by Steven Gerrard by becoming Liverpool's youngest player to score and assist in the same Champions League match at 21 years and 25 days old.

Despite the resounding victory, pundits urged caution. Former Liverpool player Stephen Warnock noted that LASK came into the match winless in four games, emphasizing that Saturday's away fixture against Brentford will provide a much sterner test of the team's true form.
