Barcelona Secures Young Israeli Talent Orian Goren in New Strategy
FC Barcelona is targeting young Israeli midfielder Orian Goren in its new academy contract strategy designed to protect top La Masia talents from low-clause exits.

FC Barcelona is actively shaping the future of young Israeli midfielder Orian Goren, who is set to turn 18 in 2027. The Catalan daily Sport highlighted Goren in an extensive report detailing the club's new strategy to secure top talents in its famed La Masia academy and prevent them from leaving prematurely.
New Contract Strategy
In recent years, Barcelona lost several standout academy graduates, including Marc Guiu and Dro Fernandez, who departed for modest release clauses of just six million euros. These departures alarmed the sporting department led by Deco, prompting a major policy shift. Since the summer of 2024, the club has introduced escalating release clauses tied to players' sporting progression.
"We must protect our future and ensure our best talents continue their development at Camp Nou under clear sporting pathways," club sources noted regarding the new contract structures.
Under the updated terms, the baseline release clause stands at six million euros. However, a debut in the UEFA Youth League raises it to eight million, and a promotion to the reserve squad pushes it to ten million. For players who manage five appearances with the senior first team, the buyout clause can climb up to 25 million euros.
Focus on Goren and Pascar
Alongside left-back Jordi Pascar, Goren is viewed as a significant long-term prospect for the club. Both teenagers will celebrate their 18th birthdays in 2027, making them prime candidates for the newly implemented contract protocols. While Sport featured Goren with the caption "Orian Goren, a talent aiming high," no official contract extension offer or agreement has been finalized yet.
Barcelona is also shifting its timeline for negotiations, initiating talks before players turn 18 to prepare for long-term four or five-year deals upon reaching adulthood. The club hopes this proactive approach will secure its next generation of stars amidst historical precedents like fellow Israeli Guy Assulin and other La Masia legends.
