FC Barcelona to Sign Sponsorship Deal with UAE Developer Ohana
FC Barcelona is set to sign a 25-year sponsorship agreement with UAE-based luxury real estate developer Ohana. The deal will yield $10 million per season during the first three years, with the brand appearing on the team's shirts.
The Catalan outlet Mundo Deportivo reports that FC Barcelona is expected to sign a sponsorship agreement with the UAE-based real estate company Ohana. Under the terms of the deal, the name Ohana will appear on the players' shirts for three seasons, starting in July 2027.
Although Ohana is one of the most common surnames in Israel, this company is based in the United Arab Emirates. The agreement, which will be presented for a vote at Barca's General Assembly on September 19, is projected to span 25 years.
However, the bulk of the revenue from Ohana will be generated during the first three years of the contract, amounting to approximately $10 million per season. Consequently, the shirt sponsorship is currently set for this initial three-year period.
Luxury Real Estate and the Manchester City Model
The company represents a luxury residential development project in the UAE. Under the agreement, it will be permitted to use FC Barcelona's brand to promote its real estate projects. Ohana previously signed a similar deal with Manchester City, which led to the creation of the luxury residential complex "Manchester City Yas Residences" on the Yas Canal in Abu Dhabi.
According to the report, Barcelona has already received an advance payment of between €2 million and €3 million for the transaction. The company's name will appear on the team's shirts in all matches except for Champions League fixtures, where the club's foundation logo will remain. After the first three years, the long-term arrangement is expected to continue generating slightly over €1 million per year for the club.
