Aura Acquires Beit BaKfar Senior Housing Network for 1.7 Billion Shekels
Real estate firm Aura has agreed to acquire the Beit BaKfar senior housing network for 1.7 billion shekels, delivering a major payout to the founding Bluestein family.

Aura, a real estate company controlled by Jacob Atrakchy, has announced the acquisition of the 'Beit BaKfar' senior housing network for 1.7 billion shekels. The transaction represents a massive value creation for the controlling Bluestein family, holding 55% of the shares, who are set to receive approximately 935 million shekels.
Founded in 1988 by Shalom Bluestein, the network operates four complexes with 920 housing units tailored to the senior demographic, maintaining an average occupancy rate of 90%. In the first half of 2026, Beit BaKfar reported revenues of 59.8 million shekels and a net profit of 78.3 million shekels, bolstered by substantial real estate revaluations.
Strategic Expansion in the Senior Living Sector
The senior housing market in Israel has attracted significant investments in recent years from major capital market players and real estate firms seeking defensive, stable income streams. Other major players entering the sector include Israel Canada, Azrieli Group, and Shapir Engineering.
Following the acquisition, the Bluestein family and key institutional investors, such as Bank Hapoalim's investment arm Poalim Equity, are realizing substantial returns, while employees are slated to receive retention grants totaling up to 22 million shekels.
