National Insurance Institute: Benefit Payment Date Remains Unchanged

In recent days, questions have arisen regarding whether the National Insurance Institute (Bituach Leumi) would advance the payment of long-term benefits in August, as the scheduled date of August 28 falls on a Friday this year.

In response, the institute published an official clarification stating that long-term benefits this month will be paid on the scheduled date, Friday, August 28, without being advanced. The benefits to be paid on this date include:

1. General disability pension

2. Old-age pension

3. Survivors' pension

4. Disabled child allowance

5. Special services allowance

6. Mobility allowance

7. Work injury benefits

8. Alimony

9. Rehabilitation benefits

10. Long-term care benefits

11. Benefits for prisoners of Zion

Child allowance will be paid on its regular date, August 20, 2026.

Correction of "Savings for Every Child" Program Data

Meanwhile, the National Insurance Institute published a clarification regarding an error in the 2025 annual report of the "Savings for Every Child" program. The error had led to an underreporting of profit data by billions of shekels.

Following a review, the total profit accumulated in the program was corrected to approximately 8.85 billion shekels. Specifically, profit figures for major companies were updated:

• Altshuler Shaham's profit figure was corrected from 79.9 million to 4,079.9 million shekels.

• Harel's profit figure was updated from 648.9 million to 1,648.9 million shekels.

The total profit presented for provident funds was also corrected from 3,249.6 million to 8,249.6 million shekels after discrepancies in the data raised public concern.
