The abandoned Cliff Hotel skeleton, perched on the Ashkelon cliff and left desolate as a symbol of economic missed opportunity for about a decade, is set to undergo a complete transformation. The Shevet Achim hotel group has officially begun construction on a luxury lifestyle resort with a massive investment, designed by Itzik Levi Architecture and Engineering, scheduled to open its doors in March 2027.

The new complex will span approximately 20,000 square meters and offer a technological hospitality experience, featuring 98 smart rooms controlled remotely via an app, all facing the waterfront, according to a report by YNET.

The highlight of the project will be an unprecedented spa complex—the largest in Israel—spanning 14,000 square meters of public areas, offering about 30 treatment rooms, ice baths, hyperbaric chambers, salt rooms, a hammam, and an indoor pool.

Alongside the health and spa complex, vacationers will enjoy a luxury rooftop combining a pool, bar, and sunset restaurant, Asian and Italian concept restaurants, a pilates studio, and innovative padel courts. This marks another strategic step for the group, which also owns the Dream Island resort and another complex on the Sea of Galilee, aimed at turning the Ashkelon promenade into a sought-after tourist hub.
