A father in Arizona has been arrested on severe child abuse charges after his seven-year-old son disclosed physical violence to school staff. The investigation revealed a history of brutal abuse dating back to the victim's infancy.

Martin Vaughn, a resident of Peoria, Arizona, was taken into custody over the weekend. The case came to light when staff at Skyview Elementary School noticed prominent red marks on the face of the seven-year-old boy, who has a developmental delay. When questioned, the child stated that his father hit him and tearfully begged educators not to contact Child Protective Services.

According to court documents, the abuse was triggered when the boy put his shirt on backward while preparing for school. Investigators uncovered a horrific pattern of prior violence. When the victim was just a six-month-old infant, he suffered a fractured skull, traumatic brain injury, and broken limbs while under his father's supervision. The mother's testimony further revealed that the suspect previously starved the child, beat him with chains, and punched him in the eye.

During police questioning, Vaughn admitted to shouting at the boy and losing his control, though he claimed the facial mark resulted from a seatbelt. A court set his bail at ten thousand dollars as the investigation continues.
