Ardan reveals contacts with Zelekha: "One cohesive political force"

The chairman of the "Ha-Achdut" party, Gilad Ardan, revealed today (Saturday) during a "Shabbat Tarbut" event at the Mishan network that contacts are underway for a political connection with the chairman of the Economic Party, Professor Yaron Zelekha.

"Such a partnership can be considered. There were contacts, we will accelerate them in the coming days," he said.

Parallel to this, Ardan met this week once again with the chairman of the Blue and White party, Benny Gantz, as part of the negotiations for the unification of the parties. A statement said: "A positive meeting took place this morning between the chairman of 'Ha-Achdut', Gilad Ardan, and the chairman of 'Blue and White', Benny Gantz. As Ardan said in recent days, he is working with increased effort in favor of unifications in the unity bloc. Another meeting between the parties will take place in the coming days."

"Partnership is considered"

According to Ardan, the contacts with Zelekha are intended to create a direct response to the economic distress in Israel. "Such a partnership with Yaron Zelekha and the Economic Party can definitely be considered," he said. "He has a very interesting platform in the field of the cost of living distress in Israel compared to the West — a thing that comes up from every citizen I meet. There were already contacts between us, and we will accelerate them in the coming days in order to come to the public as one cohesive political force."

Regarding the talks he held with the chairman of "Blue and White", MK Benny Gantz, Ardan noted: "I held two meetings with Benny Gantz. Even if we are not from the same place in our political positions, there is agreement on the national priorities: a broad Zionist government, a service law for all citizens, and a judicial reform based on broad consensus, and not one that politically takes over the system."
