After decades of friendship: Sharon Haziz and Ori Banai unite
The two, who met back in middle school and starred together in the legendary series "Inyan Shel Zman" (A Matter of Time), are collaborating for the first time and launching a joint and surprising duet that was born following a chance meeting on the television screen.
After decades of close friendship and unforgettable meetings at major cultural milestones, Sharon Haziz and Ori Banai are joining forces for the first time in a new and exciting duet titled "Rak Ani Ve'at" (Only You and I). The surprising musical connection was born following their joint participation in the program "Power Couple" on Channel 13, where they met with producer and creator Ron Biton (Ron Be). The three are credited together for the lyrics and melody of the song, which brings to expression a unique chemistry built over decades.
Haziz and Banai's paths crossed back in their youth as graduates of the Tel Aviv youth bands, and later in the youth series "Inyan Shel Zman" (A Matter of Time), which became an inseparable part of Israeli culture. Despite parallel careers and close relations, the two had never released a joint song until now. The new creation serves for them as an exciting and natural closing of a circle, bringing to expression maturity and joint art that rely on deep acquaintance.
Haziz shares the feeling of recording together for the first time:
"Sometimes the collaboration that seems the most natural is actually the one that waits the longest for the right moment. Ori and I have known each other since middle school, we have gone through quite a few stages in life and career, we met again and again throughout the years, but we never got to sing together. So here, there are things that just need to ripen… and I am happy that this moment has arrived."
Banai also describes the deep connection that was created in the recording studio:
"We have known each other for so many years, and precisely now the music connected us in a new way. There is something special about singing with someone who knows you from even before the whole story began. After so many years of friendship, it was only a matter of time until our voices would meet. Apparently, there are connections that need to wait for the right moment. With Sharon, it felt exactly like that."
