After criticizing the academy: Netanyahu offered Dr. Keren Assayag a reserved spot on the Likud list

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met today, Sunday, with Dr. Keren Assayag, an academic researcher of breast cancer, and offered her a reserved spot on the Likud list for the Knesset. It has become known that during the conversation, Assayag expressed reluctance to enter the political system, but Netanyahu tried to persuade her.

Dr. Assayag is the niece of Meni and Shalom Assayag. This past weekend, she claimed that she experienced exclusion in the academy due to her public support for Netanyahu and the government, as well as after her speech during the demonstration in support of the judicial reform.

"It is our right to support a vital reform. We will not be afraid to pay a price for our truth, because there is no price heavier than being silenced," Dr. Assayag said.

In her remarks in June of last year, Dr. Assayag thanked Prime Minister Netanyahu: "Thank you for steering our ship in an impossible reality, with attacks from within and without. We are all by your side here, even Bugs Bunny."

Following the results of the primaries, Netanyahu is looking to reserve a spot for another woman, as currently there are only three women on the Likud list up to the 25th spot: Miri Regev (8th spot), Tali Gottlieb (20th spot), and Gila Gamliel (25th spot).

Previously, it was reported that another name that came up in Netanyahu's circle is that of news anchor Netali Shem-Tov, who also met with former minister Gilad Erdan and refused his offer to join him. However, political sources said today that if there are no last-minute changes, Shem-Tov is expected to join Ofer Winter's party, which will be launched the day after tomorrow.
