Likud MK Amit Halevi Resigns From Elections Committee Over Foreign Interference Concerns
Likud MK Amit Halevi resigned from the Central Elections Committee over Justice Solberg's decision to submit election results for approval amid foreign interference concerns. Otzma Yehudit also announced it will vote against the results.

Likud MK Amit Halevi resigned Wednesday from the Central Elections Committee in protest of a decision by Supreme Court Justice Noam Solberg to submit election results to the committee for approval. Halevi stated that until serious suspicions of foreign state interference involving national security are fully addressed, the committee lacks the authority to approve the results.
In his resignation letter, Halevi criticized the Attorney General, accusing her of obstructing investigations into foreign meddling. He emphasized that election committee members are duty-bound to uphold the free choice of Israeli citizens rather than accept outcomes allegedly influenced by foreign actors such as Qatar, Iran, or Turkey.
"I will not vote against my conscience and against state security," Halevi declared, adding that he notified party leadership of his immediate departure from the panel. Concurrently, the Otzma Yehudit party, led by National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, announced it would also vote against approving the election results, citing manipulated outcomes and foreign intervention.
