Maximum alert in Vienna: hundreds of police officers will accompany the Beitar Jerusalem fans' march
Ahead of the second leg against Austria Vienna (21:30) and in the shadow of Antifa protests, large security forces will accompany the thousand fans who came from Israel and are expected to arrive in a convoy at the Generali Arena. After the disappointment in the "home" match in Romania against Austria Vienna (a 1:2 loss), Beitar Jerusalem hopes to complete a comeback this evening (Thursday, 21:30) in the second leg of the third qualifying round. No fewer than a thousand fans will accompany the team in the match against the club that, after two rounds in the Austrian Bundesliga, is still looking for its first victory of the 2026/27 season.
Ahead of the match, fans will hold a march to the Generali Arena stadium, with the event being secured by hundreds of police officers and dozens of patrol cars. The march will take place in parallel with a protest that Antifa activists are planning to hold against Beitar Jerusalem. "We will not allow the most racist club in Israel to play in our city without there being a response to it," they stated, noting that the protest is a response to the far-right fan culture associated with Beitar Jerusalem, which has been a controversial subject over the years.
Even before the march, the Hungarian star of the past, István Pisont, joined a shuttle of Beitar Jerusalem fans and was greeted with singing upon boarding the minibus.
